Heres some info I found on it. Up for you consideration is a Meridian nortel 3x8 616 PBX doorphone bought this brand new few years back and installed it at my front door interfaced with system. To set up it appears in the system as a M7324. I used silicone around it for extra protection but spent its time under a protected porch so still in very good condition.

You can connect a door opening module to this, but I never installed the module, only using it talk people outside my. When people press the button it beeps extensions and you can talk to person outside. Features allows two-way conversation between nor star phone and doorphone can add optional door opening controller doc, controlled by pressing a programmed like any phone up to four doorphone can be accommodated on one system permits 2 way conversations from inside the phone works 824 modular ksu, compact, compact cis mics, nortel BC system.

There is documentation online on how to set it up, you connect one of the extension pairs that normally go a nor star system phone.
